Junior English

Course Overview

Many families come to Manchester in the summer. Our day courses enable teenagers to attend English classes while enjoying a holiday or visiting family in the city.

Junior courses are for ages 14-17 and taught in small, focused study groups (average 6 students). Our Junior English course is designed to equip students with key English communication skills, to practise what is studied at their own school, and to encourage more progress when they return home, through increased enjoyment of, and confidence with, the language.

Here’s your chance to learn effectively, in an interactive, fun and age-appropriate way, and to make friends from all over the world.

Course Content

Topics and language areas vary according to class level, however the course content is designed with your teacher each week, to focus on specific group needs and in particular:

• Speaking and listening skills
• Vocabulary building
• Functional language

On Fridays the focus is on collaborative and task-based learning group activities in ‘Project Fridays’, designed to develop fluency and promote other key learning and transferable skills.
